Sustainable use of natural resources

Coastruction's technology offers unparalleled material flexibility. We have the freedom to use any liquid binder with a viscosity similar to water, along with a wide range of cement and granular fill materials.

This trifecta of parameters empowers us to print an array of different recipes. We can 3D print using seawater or locally sourced fresh water, and when it comes to cement, options include limestone, various types of Portland cement, or any other available variety.

The selection of fill materials is extensive, spanning from common local aggregates like beach sand or seabed sediment to dredged materials and even recycled concrete.

Using local raw materials

Sustainability for us begins with the use of natural, and ideally, local materials. We do not use chemical additives to bind our material.

For us, au naturel, works just fine. 

The use of regionally extracted raw material optimizes the supply chain by shortening transportation routes and reduces harmful emissions to the environment. Subsequently it has a big positive impact on the project budget.

Lowering CO₂ impact

Global warming has strongly contributed to the reduction of coral reefs worldwide. The production of cement is the 8% cause of CO₂ pollution. It is therefore our goal to make any structures we print CO₂ neutral.
